A garden designed with sweet scents for outdoor meditation. |
A few months ago I was asked to help the Depew family create a beautiful, three season garden for their new outdoor chapel area. There were three benches planned with limited area in front for walking, so I planned a scented ground cover of Thyme that will take some foot traffic. Lavender fills one corner by the wall, roses will be trained over the corner, and oriental lilies will make it intoxication in the summertime! Tall juniper pillars will give the whole area a Mediterranean feel and give it structure in the winter months. Perennials will carry the blooms on from spring through fall, while white variegation will draw out the sculpture in the grotto.
We chose these benches, these juniper, and these pots with these grasses. See more plant photos for this garden on the Depew Gardens pin board!
